Contemporary Crossings

Map of Greenwich & Blackwall, London. Features are drawn in black, and the background is sepia. The River Thames is filled in with a series of concentric lines. Buildings are shown with grey hatching. The cable car across the Thames is shown as a dot-dash line, and is labelled Cable Car, and the under construction Silvertown tunnel is shown as a pair of dashed lines.
Contemporary Crossings: Modern ways to cross the River Thames: the silly cable car thing; and the silly silvertown tunnel thing. All done in a vintage style for day 7 of 2024 #30DayMapChallenge.

comments Pleased with how this turned out. Labelling could be improved. Made good use of the xkcd plotting context to get lines that look more sketchy. Happy with the river interntal buffers. Exported and used the clothify filter in GIMP, to make it look old. Bonus points for including the points at which the Greenwich Meridian crosses the Thames & Trinity Buoy Wharf; legend could be moved away from the neatline a bit; and graticule labels should probably be larger
